Retinal Imaging
Retina scan or Retina imaging involves studying the layers of retina and blood supply. It gives details about swelling, bleeding and over all health of the retina and nerves.
Uveitis
Some diseases cause inflammation in the Retina and other layers of the eye leading to uveitis. Uveitis can be secondary to Tuberculosis, Syphilis, Sarcoidosis, Arthritis and Viral infections.
Medical Retina
Treatment of diseases like Diabetic Retinopathy, Hypertensive Retinoapthy, Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD), Macular Edema, Uveitis is done by medicines, retina injections and lasers. This is known as Medical Retina.
Intravitreal Injections
Intravitreal Injections or retina injections are injections given inside the eye. These are given to reduce swelling or decrease bleeding inside the eye. Common injections are Avastin, Accentrix, Lucentis, Zaltrap, Eyelea and Ozurdex.
Injections are a day care procedure and can donot require any special preoperative or postoperative care.
Laser
Retina laser consists of panretinal photo coagulation ( PRP) therapy. PRP is done in case where there is bleeding or risk of bleeding in the retina known as Vitreous haemorrhage or SubHyaloid haemorrhage.
Laser is also done if there are breaks, tear or holes in retina which may lead to Retinal detachment.
Pre lasik also some patients may require laser if they have lattice degenration or weak areas. Laser treatment is a day care procedure and does not require any special precautions after therapy.
Fundus Fluorescein Angiography & Fundus Photo
FFA and FP is where we take photographs of the retina . This helps in keeping a record of the changes inside the nerves. In FFA a dye is injected in the hand and photos of Retina are taken from a Fundus Camera. This gives information about blood supply of retina and nerves. Leaking or lack of blood supply will need treatment and can be seen in diseases like Diabetes and Hypertension.

Vitrectomy
Surgery of retina is called Vitrectomy. It is done by creating small holes in the eyes and is just like Laproscopy surgery. During surgery laser is done and Silicone oil or gas is injected in the eye. Vitrectomy can treat Retinal detachment, Diabetic Retinopathy, Vitreomacular traction, Macular hole, Vitreous haemorrhage and other disorders.

Following the footsteps of his great grandfather late Dr.Jagan Nath Soni a physician in Army and grandfather late Dr.Prem Nath Soni (Ophthalmologist) Dr. Anuj had already inherited the urge to treat the diseased.
