Dr. Anuj Soni is a retina specialist ophthalmologist with special interest in Retinal disorders like Diabetic Retinopathy, Age Related Retinal Disorders, Retinal Detachment, Hypertensive Retinopathy and Inflammatory disorders of Uvea and Retina.
Following the footsteps of his great grandfather late Dr.Jagan Nath Soni a physician in Army and grandfather late Dr.Prem Nath Soni (Ophthalmologist) Dr. Anuj had already inherited the urge to treat the deceased.
He started his journey by graduating from MGM Medical College, Navi Mumbai. After his MBBS he pursued Diploma in Ophthalmology (DO) from Government Medical College, Aurangabad and Diplomate National Board (DNB) from world renowned LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. He gained expertise in treating retinal disorders from Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, Chennai. He is also a certified Fellow of International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) which is recognized internationally. Also, he is certified Fellow of All India Collegium of Ophthalmology in VitreoRetina (FAICO). He has also cleared the Royal College fellowship (FRCS PART 2). Dr. Soni is one of the best retina specialists in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane.
He has presented in various posters, papers and videos in state, national and international meets and conferences. He has recently published guidelines for treating painful eye conditions via Tele consulting in this COVID era with a team of other eye specialist. Besides research he takes pride in teaching and runs a YouTube channel for training residents, fellows and colleagues in ophthalmology. He also pioneers in Mobile Fundosocpy a low cost portable method of checking Fundus
He specializes in treating with ethics and empathy. He takes passion in developing a strong and honest Doctor-Patient relationship. Dr.Soni says, “ Fees is important but not everything’’as he tries to imbibe principles of Gandhiji in his professional and personal life.
Having travelled extensively Dr. Anuj is comfortable in Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and bit of Malayalam. Following a simple lifestyle you can often find him walking his way to the Clinic. When not in clinic you can find him clicking photographs or reading about cars and tech.
